Matthew Engst

Bio

Matthew Engst is a versatile producer and songwriter whose work spans genres from pop and hip-hop to electronic and reggae. In 2004, he was signed to Warner Chappell Sweden with his electro pop duo, Killabite. Their first single entitled, ‘Follow Me Home,’ was co-written by Swedish producers, Axwell (Swedish House Mafia) and Alexander Kronlund (co-wrote Britney Spears hit singles, ‘Lucky’ and ‘Til The World Ends.’). The song had success in Europe with radio play and tours throughout Scandinavia.

At Garnish LA, Matthew teaches Ableton Live & Logic Pro Music Production, Sound Lab (Synthesis & Sound Design), Music Theory and mentors up and coming producers 1-on-1.

Credits

Matthew has worked closely with legendary producer Max Martin on the hit Broadway musical, “& Juliet”. He also teamed up with acclaimed producer Rami Yacoub on a track for Sofia Carson and co-produced a Christmas song for Michael Bublé.

In the electronic scene, Matthew collaborated with Brazilian DJ Vintage Culture, whose career has amassed over 1.5 billion streams, on “Weak,” a track that topped the Beatport charts and is up for consideration for the 2025 Grammy Awards. The track was also featured on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 earlier this year. Later, Matthew returned to BBC Radio 1 with his own DJ duo project, Haddadi Von Engst, whose latest track was signed by legendary underground house DJ, Solomun, to his label, Diynamic.
