Music Theory and Keyboard Proficiency

→Music Theory and Keyboard Proficiency enables students to be proficient in communicating with collaborators and become an efficient hit maker. All Garnish LA ProductionProgram students receive these music lessons in parallel with their other technology classes.

Synthesis and Sound Design

→Craft your unique sonic identity in the Sound Design module mastering Synthesizers and Samplers.
→Explore industry-standard plugins (Serum, Arturia Collection) and iconic hardware (Juno 106, Moog, DX7, Mellotron) to elevate your music.
→Go beyond Subtractive Synthesis with Granular, Additive, Wavetable, and FM synthesis, plus sampling based production techniques.
→Learn the art of Reverse Engineering in Sound Labs to dissect and recreate sounds from your favorite records, building your own sound libraries.
→Tap into the growing Sound Design industry for Pop and EDM genres, Video Games, VR, Film and TV in the Producer Program.

Hit Songwriting

→The SongCraft – Hit Songwriting module provides expert tips and real world examples that other sources neglect to share, bringing out the hitmaker in you! Taught by Billboard chart-topping LA songwriters in state of the art studios.
→Analyze hit-making techniques across genres and eras, turning your ideas into release-ready songs.
→Master Lyrics, Melodies, Song Splits, PROs, Publishing, and Master Ownership.
→Producers learn to effectively communicate their topline ideas to artists and songwriters.
→Stay ahead in the game with current Music Business insights from active songwriters and publishers, avoiding outdated resources.

Studio Vocal Production

Elevate your vocals in the Studio Vocal Production module for artists and producers.

→Transform demo vocals into release-ready records with guidance from seasoned session singers, no singing required.
→Master recording studio set up and signal flow, mic choices and techniques, auto tune, pre-amps, headphone mixes and effects for monitoring.
→Create genre-specific background parts, harmonies, rap vocals, adlibs, and creative vocal effects.
→Learn vocal comping, tuning, aligning, and mixing to create ready for release finished vocals.

Mixing

Students learn to create pro-level releases in the Mixing module, guided by LA's top Audio Engineers. In a saturated world of songs lacking clarity and depth, it pays to have your releases stand out!

→Mixing Module: Master acoustics, setting up your home studio, using Compressors, EQs, Reverbs and creative effects in our state of the art Studio A. Ensure your tracks shine on all audio systems—cars, phones, and in-ears.
